"Amazing Love", by Dalton Sexton, acrylic painting

His love is yours. You only need to accept it.

His love is yours. You only need to accept it.

My daughter was preparing for a craft show on the evening of July 2nd, 2009, to help fund her mission trip. I was struggling with depression that evening, because my narcolepsy left me feeling useless.

I had been trying to get birdhouses completed for weeks, so that I would have something to contribute. After all of that time, I had only managed to complete three houses. She had plenty of donations to sell at the show. If not for them, the tent would have been nearly empty.

I went into the garage and pulled out the little canvas that I had attempted to paint on several times before, and failed. Using a toothpick and my fingers, through teary eyes, I looked to Jesus for guidance.

Not only was this my first successful painting, it was also my first time creating a face. I have drawn since I was a child, but the human face has always eluded me. That evening God showed me the one thing I could do while narcoleptic.

I have since completed several works, including a photo realistic portrait of my late father, been in two art shows, and have two permanent vendors displaying my works.

Praise The Lord!

Wounded for our transgressions
by: Sara

Hi Dalton,
I should have written this a long time ago - "I'm sorry. Thank you for sharing your painting and your story.

The painting vividly portrays the Scripture in Isaiah 53:5 "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

The raw emotion of what He wrought in you, as you worked is apparent in your painting.

Keep painting and sharing.
