Words are inadequate to fully express my gratitude for what happened when God took the form of a helpless baby and stepped into sin-sodden humanity. It was a rescue mission beyond imagining. I know that I will spend my lifetime attempting to grasp it's phenomenal implications. Jesus is the gift that can never be fully unwrapped. Just when I think, "Ah! Now I understand!", the Bible will unravel some new aspect about his redemptive work that I had not even considered. So yes, a babe was born, in humble circumstances, but what that means to each of us, is truly what is mind boggling. My prayer for all the visitors to this site - those who have written to me and those who choose to remain silent - is that you will fully grasp the extent of His love and mercy, which "extends to those who fear (reverence) Him, from generation to generation." For "He has performed mighty deeds with His arm". Luke 1: 50, 51 No other response is appropriate, but overflowing praise, for by His coming, He has "filled the hungry with good things." Luke 1:53 I wish each of you, and your loved ones, a very blessed Christmas. May you too be filled to overflowing!

Handel's Hallelujah Chorus performed by the Opera Company of Philadelphia at Macy's surprised the shoppers, as 600 choristers mingling with them, burst into timeless, glorious praise. This is part of their "1000 Random Acts of Culture" project, which they'll be performing over the next three years across the country. The singers were accompanied by the Wanamaker Organ, the world's largest pipe organ. Wouldn't it be terrific if every act of "random culture" selected by society today was the work of Christian musicians, poets, writers, artists, sculptors..? Handel is still relevant, these hundreds of years later. His music presents with beauty and finesse, the power of the timeless Word of God, written by Isaiah and inspired by the Holy Spirit. Enjoy! And pray for the wisdom, insight and anointing to create and celebrate Jesus through the works of your hands. Then, who knows... perhaps your work glorifying God, will be a "random act of culture" selected by a future generation..

Here is a brief report that I promised after last week's event in Branson, MO. There is something powerful about believers gathering together to share Christ. Life flows. Nuts and bolts of various disciplines were taught and discussed. There were 60 participants, undoubtedly a modest beginning, but one that somehow seemed complete. Faculty and participants came from California, Washington, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Branson, Kansas, Missouri and Texas. Students attended workshops and panels in water color, polymer clay, voice, drama, mime, street acts, faith in media and entertainment, song writing, writing and production amongst others. So for all those who were there, I was blessed by your presence and contribution. For those who missed out, there will probably be a next time that you might want to participate in.

What an amazing victory was won on this blessed morning! More precious to me than ever before, I am slowly uncovering in little glimpses, what this victory means to me personally. This poem was written for this Easter 2010 The Night Watch Drowsy the watch, thick the night
Snapped a dry twig in a blaze of light
Molten bronzed embers of a weary fire
Bored soldiers yawned on a night of hire
Shh! Lest you startle eyes open wide
Of men of great valor, vigor and pride
Worthless this watch of a dreary, sealed tomb
A battered cold body held in its stone womb

Shh! Scurrying mouse, and owl overhead
Instincts full of dark unaccustomed dread
Portend of evil in a world yet unseen
Revealing no clues of what this might mean

Shh! All who sleep on this ordinary night
A war for your souls is waged out of sight
Unaware of a grave powerless to contain
Fierce armies of evil striving to restrain

Shh! Hear the shrieking of demonic force
Clamping of jaws to snap firmly close
Death, cold and empty, grasping for the prize
Life, full and vibrant, in its clawing vise

Hearken to the deep rumble of thunder
Supernal force of evil rend asunder
Blinding the flash of ethereal, hot light
In silence has changed the tenor of this night

Shh! Stand in awe, wipe sleep from your eyes
Behold incredulous, this is no concocted lie
He who was dead stands impossibly alive
Before yawning tomb, amidst sleepy life

Shh! Learn well from this wondrous night
In an ordinary moment, death was put to flight
Refrain from dullness of spirit and soul
Stay sharply awake to glimpse wars of the soul

Shh! When He turns to call you by name
Leap to your feet, lest you be put to shame
For expecting so little of that night of promise
Though for eons God spoke of making you His.
